one on one coaching

With our one on one coaching you will be provided with a personalized training plan each week. Your plan will be optimized specifically to meet your running goals. personalized Training Plans are delivered via the Final Surge web based coaching platform, so you no longer have to deal with numerous spreadsheets and emails. There is even an app so you can have access to your training plan wherever you are.

Monthly coaching calls provide opportunity for more in-depth discussion on training. We will get into training theory and concepts, self care, optimizing nutrition and hydration as well as working on some mental toughness strategies.

We require detailed notes from you on your training runs, and provide unlimited feedback throughout the month responding to your workout comments and any additional questions that come up during training.

Because it takes a while to see results from coaching, we request a minimum four month commitment, with the first and last months payment up front. A discount of $50 is offered to athletes who pay the full 4 months upfront.

Customized Training Plans

Are you interested a custom training plan, without coaching support? We are offering this option as a new service. After completing a short questionnaire, we will have a 45 minute phone consult to clarify any questions and give you a chance to ask us anything. After this we will prepare a custom 16 week training plan specifically for you. Prices vary, starting at $125 per three month plan.

FAQ

Q: WHY A MINIMUM 4 MONTH COMMITMENT?
A: It takes a long time to realize changes in your running capabilities, the cardiovascular and muscular skeletal systems need time to make adaptations. We understand, 4 months sounds like a big commitment. A lot of coaches ask for 6 months and even 1 year, we are trying to make it a little less scary for you with 4 months.

Q: WHAT IF I’M INJURED AND CAN’T TRAIN?
A: No problem, injuries happen to us all, we will pause training until you are ready to resume again (within 1 calendar year)

Q: WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE COACHING?
A: We always have a meeting with our clients so we can get to know one another before we enter into a coaching agreement. This gives us both the chance to get to know one another and get a feeling if we can work together. But, even after that, if you start coaching and within the first month decide it isn’t working for you or for any reason are not satisfied you will be refunded all fees following the first month. Basically you get coached for the first month and pay for that month then are not required to pay for the remainder and are offered a refund for any additional months already paid. No questions asked.

Q: WHAT IF SOMETHING ELSE DISASTROUS HAPPENS AND I CAN’T TRAIN?
A: We get it, we are people too, and pretty reasonable ones. Let us know and we will work something out with you, be it a refund or a deferral.
